Refund Policy
Bids are non-refundable
A bid on Merit List is a payment for advertising placement, not a deposit or a reservation. Once a payment is confirmed and your listing’s score is credited, that payment is final and non-refundable. This applies regardless of how your listing subsequently ranks, whether it is later passed by another bidder, or whether a season in which you bid later ends and resets.
The one exception: removal for a policy violation
If we remove your listing because it violates our Terms of Service(for example, it is illegal, fraudulent, or belongs to a category we do not host), we will refund the bids paid toward that listing, less any payment gateway fees already incurred on those payments. This is our decision and our cost to bear when we remove a listing on those grounds, and it is the only circumstance in which a bid is refunded.
To request this refund, contact us at the address on our Contact page with your listing name or edit link and the payment reference.
Payments that never confirm
If a payment fails, is abandoned, or is never captured by our payment gateway, you are not charged and your listing’s score is not affected — there is nothing to refund, because nothing was collected. An unconfirmed payment attempt expires automatically and does not need to be reported to us.
Season resets
A season ending and scores resetting to zero for the next season is not a refund event. This is disclosed upfront in our Terms of Service: a top finisher when a season ends is recorded permanently in the Hall of Fame, and that record is the return on the advertising spend for that season.
